Can't edit Shouts any more

Was it because I was being bad? If so, the only thing I do differently lately is that I merge consecutive shouts into a single shout in order to save space, and to avoid burying something that someone else said. I ought to have received a warning. But I doubt that this is the explanation because surely I would have been asked not to do that prior to the ability being taken from me. That's how the Phora usually operates.
Has everyone been robbed of this ability? If that be the case, I can think of valid reasons to revoke the privilege, though they don't seem like very strong ones; unless widely abused, the positives of letting people edit their shouts greatly outweigh the negatives of taking that ability away from everyone. If the ability to edit shouts has been taken away, please allow everyone to delete their shouts so that if they made an error they can resubmit a corrected version of the same message after deleting the original. (If this is just a glitch--tried editing shouts on 4 different browsers now, and I get the same result. Everything else on the forum works perfectly fine.)​

Are you getting a message when you edit something to the effect of "You must enter a shout"? Or can you not even enter the editor?

Good point. I can get to the 'edit' screen, and edit the text as much as I want, but as soon as I submit it, I get the following message:​

Oops! We ran into some problems.​

Please enter a valid message.​

Which made me suspect that it was most likely a problem with my browser. So I tried to do the same thing with Firefox, Waterfox, K-Meleon, Edge, and (just now) Opera, and I get the same result in all cases. Tried the same thing on another forum that uses the same software as this one, and I can edit the shouts there without problem. But the fact that I can access the editor but can't submit the edit does suggest that it is a possible glitch in the system, which is what I assume you are getting at with your question. Would like to have the ability back. If you think it is a problem with my account then I will tinker around with the setting (which I have not changed, either before or after this started to happen). Even if I am so far the only person who has noticed this problem, it might still be worth addressing, since to begin with there aren't a lot of people using the Shoutbox, hence few people to put the edit function on it to the test; and second of all, not everyone who uses the shoutbox even bothers to edit anything they write; so if the glitch is such as to affect multiple people, it would probably take a while for most of them to notice it.​

This is a glitch in a sense. There seems to be a problem if you have multiple instances of the Phora running where you're logged in. This happens to me a lot but usually on the phone and seldom on the desktop. I have to close all the tabs where I'm logged on to reduce it to one instance. It makes sense the editor gets confused about which instance is editing what.

Thank you for pointing that out. I am going to see if that is causing it by logging out everywhere and logging back in on one browser only. Hopefully it fixes the problem. I'll post again to let you know if it works or not.​

You suspected aright. I did what you suggested and it straightwise fixt the problem. Thank you for quickly coming to my assistance, and for a solution so timelily delivered.

You spared me much of what would elsewise have been much future noyance, so proclive am I to typgraphical error.
