Doug Mastriano vs. Josh Shapiro (Pa Gubernatorial) as a referendum on Christian Nationalism

On MsNBC today (the Reid Out), Mastriano was attacked as Christian nationalist and they went after the CEO of Gab for singling out Shapiro for being "at best a secular Jew." The line was that Mastriano wants to take rights away from people based on faith, but that Shapiro doesn't take rights away in the name of Jewishness.

So they brought Gab into it and then attacked Mastriano by association.

The Governor Race however is a lot further separated by polling than the Senate race in Shapiro's favor, which would suggest that this dynamic is losing politically. The Senate race is a toss up, but the Governor race is polling pretty consistently in favor of Shapiro.

This suggests that the average person doesn't support Christian nationalism, unless you blame the stroke that John Fettermen had (he's in the Senate race).

It's mathematically failing to be associated with Christian nationalism with wider margins of polls going against candidates who get tied to it. Of course this is just one candidate.
