In particular I'm going to call this possible threat now: NAIS may work using political warfare to escalate the Russian/Ukraine crisis into a full blow crisis on American soil, within the next few months, using the 'financial channel' as the trigger.

I think Americans who are delivering solemn screeds on the internet about Making the World Safe for Democracy *ALSO* believe they can do so from the safety of their sofa in front of the Telescreen, just like they could in Iraq and Afghanistan, with essentially zero blowback risk.

What's going on in a nutshell:

1. Western countries are playing a double game trying to have sanctions on commodities without crashing themselves.

2. The market has decided not to buy Russian commodities at *any* price -- too risky. Result: supply shock every bit as big @ 1973

We should remember the sometime importance of the Shadow Banking System on both sides of the Chimerica Pond in 2007/2008 (China's was based on copper as a commodity, ours was based on leveraged mortgages) The THREAT here is an induced crisis of Capitalism at a time we are vuln..
