The best way to do the latter is to reduce or end taxation so that the successful have more kids, since those are more likely to be high-IQ.

"Nerd" and "geek" were nasty words in the 1980s, corresponding to 1950s "egghead." It meant someone good at fixing a machine but useless at real life.

Such people only exist because tech rewards them. The more granularized the roles, the more nerds you get. The more responsibility for the end project enforced, the more you get useful people who can also code, since coding is not rocket science.

It's an interesting idea but seems a bit extreme.

No, under-100 IQ folks. Societies rise the more of those they remove. If you want to be Finland overnight, you gas everyone under 115 IQ points and see who can be useful, then keep those and send the rest away.
