The old Phora was a beautiful place...

Good to see you again Petr.

I was a founding member / early adopter of vBulletin so if I had known of the issues I probably could have got the Phora a free life-time subscription.

Upgrades were a pain in the ass with vBulletin but not impossible to fix, I think I even mentioned this to an admin 3+ years ago.

I learnt a lot about PHP, CSS, and XML on my own personal forum with all the lengthy upgrades required.

I am OVERWATCH

VBullshit 5 is garbage. I have never seen such a slow, unintuitive, bloated, problem-ridden, unreliable, buggy peice of shit forum software in my whole life.

XF by comparison is FAR superior. It takes a little getting used to but it is what VB3 used to be

VBullshit now is nothing more than software for commercialized forums like porno-peddlers

The old Phora archive ran/"runs" on VBullshit 5 as a read-only site. Something broke with it AGAIN a few months ago but I have a busy life and havent had the time to fix it. The database is still there. If you wanna volunteer your time to fix it, then we might do that.

Its nice to see you back, I always liked your poasts. Im gonna add you to the shout box

The voices of our ancestors reverberate like an earthquake within the soul of a true Phoran. Jews have destroyed almost every aspect of our beloved society, using the negro and other mud races as their proxy...but we shall survive. Oh yes, by the grace of God, we shall overcome and arise from the ashes like a mighty phoenix, creating the coming reality in our image....

How did you guys manage to fuck it up so badly? This place looks like shit. Sad to see all my many posts gone like tears in the rain.

That said, I'm back.
Many olde timers appeared here in the past year and did not stick around, so we'll see about that.

Anyway, didn't you used to post on VNNF also back in the day? LOL. Almost feels like another lifetime -- or timeline -- when WN 1.0 was actually a thing.

It's always possible that some form of the auld phora archives will end up on IPFS too... along with the Original Dissent ones from the aughties.

You never know. Hashes gonna hash.

@kanethenotorious @Charles Silvius Haddock

btw, the OD recover archives have lived on zork.net (run by a guy who worked for VMWare then Ubuntu) for... like a couple decades. Very Magickal place that.

[[ typical broken link that -- thanks google ]]

Well shit... that old google code broke, but if you jump up a bit, well there are directories you see... https://zork.net/~googol/odrecover/

My net-name before I was 'Macrobius' was 'Googol' (fun right? But some corp stole it from me. Bastards)

Feel free to poke around ... but the interesting stuff is here: https://zork.net/~googol/odrecover/net.zork.odr.ODRecoveryTool/wayback/

I only had the vBull 'poasts' table gifted me, so I had to scrape wayback for the thread titles. And so it goes.

The first lesson of leadership is this: no one will give a fuck about what you say or obey a single order you give. If you want to learn to lead, you need to learn to MOTIVATE. That is all.

Yes. Glenn Miller challenging Martin Lindstedt to a fight in a south Missouri Walmart parking lot was indeed beautiful. Gone forever

I'm having this discussion with my fambly right now in fact... My father's uncle once told me that we need to check our shotguns at the Church door.

There's a reason I'm the eldest son of his older brother though.

I guess my final opinion on such matters is... it depends on what happens in the Church.

The authentic alembic of the Phora's ascendancy, under the most scrutinous inspection, is the fervent engagement of its constituent members.

Should any erstwhile Phoreigner incubate the faintest flicker of volition to aggrandise the calibre of this colloquium, yet demurs active participation therein, he shoulders a modicum of personal culpability in the very matter whereof he bemoans, forasmuch as his ardent engagement would indubitably effect the coveted melioration.

Lesson 0: Not all men who fancy themselves captains should steer a vessel. If one finds oneself confined to the 'gamma' rank of virility, notwithstanding the degree of eptitude one may acquire in any field whatsoever, one ought to forego donning the garb of leadership over other people. For there's not a soul in the world that beholds such a man as a leader of anything, and none, 'cept himself alone, nurtures the conviction that he is fit for such a station.

I should mention, btw that it took Ahknaton and myself using our noodles to get it continue to run at all, when it started shitting the bed in 2013 was it? Ahk did a bunch of hacks that bordered on Hospice/EMR work, advised by me and I recall DBass (@kanethenotorious had a few choice words of relevance about our work^H^H^H^H hack attempts, there. It's a friggin miracle that a posts table with 500,000 rows and 100,000 threads lived another 7 years beyond a certain death sentence. Praise Jesus.

And when we finally decided to upgrade to VB5 (February 2020), it took a month long effort on OW's part and help from vBull corporation, mediated by Wayne Luke (no less) and some guardian angels who hang out in the Circle of Crust, to even make it happen.

You can read the story of those times here:

You can pick my jaw up off the floor that even worked at all.
