There really are two Americas - urban and rural

Big cities are diverse, multicultural and heavily Democrat. Rural areas are largely homogenous both religiously and racially and heavily Republican.

The interesting thing about eastern Pa is that it very quickly goes back and forth between rural and urban. So I've seen both lifestyles.

When you realize the difference you see immigration as less of a threat, since immigrants just go to the big cities anyways while the small towns and rural areas seem to change little.

Gangster Bolshevism came up as I was transitioning from rural to urban America. Experiencing what it's like to feel like a racial minority then becoming more sympathetic to minorities.

I like to frequently go in and out. I'm suspended from driving right now so it's harder, can only use public transit. I go back and forth between rural and urban almost in a bipolar fashion, getting bored with one and then going to the other.

There really are two different Americas, existing concurrently and in parallel, and only one holds the reigns of national power.

I suppose we could list the numerous ways theyre at odds with one another, with fundamentally different values, views on the national identity and interpretations of the US CONstipation

Going into bad neighborhoods can be a bit of a thrill seeking exercise. It gets your radar up. Especially when you didn't grow up in bad neighborhoods and stick out like a soar thumb with a different accent, no ebonics. Some bad neighborhoods are multi-racial (junkie neighborhoods) and other ones are clearly black enclaves.
