What are some good books to read, to understand the coming war?

“Gentlemen may cry, ‘Peace, Peace,’ but there is no peace. The war is actually begun! The next gale that sweeps from the north will bring to our ears the clash of resounding arms! First read it in summer of 1975. In the house of my Great Aunt, who typed up the orders for D-Day and was put in solitary as a security precaution until June 6th because, you know, the Union doesn't really trust Southrons.
