What Kind of Music do you Listen to?

I have grown into just plain never listening to music under my own volition. It started because music and reading which I am almost always doing do not go together well but I would still listen while driving. Then I stopped doing that because I'd just as soon indulge my own inner dialogue than listen to pop music, and I don't care for so-called classical music. I am not a sound oriented guy, basically. I used to love music as most young people do. I remember my step mother who taught piano did not listen to music around her house, and I thought that was weird of her but now I understand perfectly. Or I think I do anyway.

I listen to a wide variety of music, everything ranging from Kentucky bluegrass to Thai Phleng phuea chiwit, though I think 70s-80s reggae and early 2000s House music will always be my mainstays; Lately, I've really gotten into Russian genres like Doomer, Witcher House (hard to describe, but basically meloncholy electronic music with occult themes) and Post-Punk (of which Перемотка is my favourite), not to mention the genre known as "Wave music" (also known as "Wavepool"), which has a sound like this.

In essence, my music tastes have become more "depressing" without actually veering into emo territory. I like music that has a sad, yet sanguine note.

Fun fact: Apparently, Michael Jackson composed much of the soundtrack for Sonic 2 and Sonic 3, which is why so many of his songs align so nicely with the BMG from those games:

The only music I listen to now days is my upstairs neighbor's music which is basically the same music I grew up to minus the more strident hardcore and punk. Listening to that stuff creeps me out sometimes, especially some of the more sentimental syrupy stuff like Joni Mitchell. I'd rather not hear it tbh. My go to melodies are small bird usually sparrow song.

I prefer blackbird chirping. Magpies can be annoying and are destructive towards pacifist bird species, like all crow races tend to be. They are also the moast intelligent bird, making them an even more threatening fifth column within the aviary animal wörld

I feel contempt for bluejays, the most obnoxious corvid. I'm not sure I have ever seen a magpie. Great name though. Cannot help but like ravens even though on the eternal conflict between hawk and raven I'm strictly on the side of the hawk.
