.. ? ( see thread title ).
.. as for me...
.. Ron Eldard..
.. maybe the fact that he is not a 'mega-star' like people like Jack Nicholson , Madonna et al gives you a clue that I personally do not judge actors on their prominence-level but rather on their ability to act, quite and simply put ..
Eldard starred in the movies 'Sleepers' ( '96 ) , 'The Runner' ( '99 ),' Black Hawk Down' ( 2001) and others..
.. I personally happen to think he is quite good at playing 'bad-ass'-characters..
In my honest opinion he brings some excitement into some movies....

.. so.. that's it for me.. who are your personal fav. actors ?
.. one of Eldard's roles in the end, can't resist..
.. him playing the character John Riley in 'Sleepers', allegedly based on a true story of a man who grew up in New York's "Hell's Kitchen" in the 60s..
( Viewer Discretion advise.. If you have problems with killing-scenes in movies you might want to stop watching this clip at about 4:00.. )
.. a scene built on an alleged revenge of two thugs concerning a man who abused them as kids when they were inmates at a youth detention zone..
No matter whether you think this movie is based on a true story or not ( many doubted the authenticity.. ) I think Eldard played his role well..
