The solar powered bird bath is now a community resource shared by birds (even hummingbirds), cats, and oddly by bees. You need to make special arrangements for bees though it seems, as some will fall in and drown
Bee waterers are easy to set up and go a long way in keeping bees, and your neighbors, safe. Learn how to create one from materials you have at home.

Oddly the pigeons and dark-headed juncoes have shown an inordinate interest in the Fuehrer Bunker -- maybe they think it is a dovecot (columbarium in Latin) -- a fine place to nest. If they do I think they might be sorry.
Our attitude is to just let nature be nature. The pigeons, crows, gulls, robins, sharp-shinned hawks, finches, juncoes, hummingbirbs, cats of all sorts, not to mention dogs and humans all seem to coexist without (mostly) chowing down on each other. But it does happen.
Things they all appreciate: 1/ plants to shelter under and not just just a 'sterile lawn' 2/ running water 3/ warm or shady spots as needed 4/ mulch beds to fertilize and use as shitters 5/ amenities like native plants for pollinators the cats can harass 6/ a variety of tasty birbs and small edible mammalian commensals. And, in the case of cats, hot concrete block warmed in the sun and scratchy welcome mats to sleep on (both the indoor cats and the stray take turns with this).
Needs more fish and frogs stocked in a small pond though, and a greenhouse with the door a bit ajar, or cold frames for some of the plants, and lots more veggies next season.
