These numbers should not be accepted uncritically. And yet they are presented by an official Russian spokesperson - so Russians are now claiming that Ukraine is really scraping the bottom of their barrel of expendable middle-aged men (the only militarily useful male demographic group Ukraine used to have relatively plentiful supply of):
